I pitched another packet of yeast in two of my three carboys. I hydrated the yeast then added cider and Fermaid K to create a starter, then pitched the next morning. One of my carboys is bubbling very slowly, the other two are not. I’m preparing a starter with cider I saved for the kids. I’ll pitch the starter tomorrow.
Still no luck, I tied string to my hydrometer and it’s still over 1.050. I’m going to pitch more yeast today. Thanks guys!
Thanks for the help, is there any chance the yeast will kick in and start fermentation? I’m tempted to wait another day, unless that’s a bad idea. Also, what happens when two types of yeast are pitched? Does one take over, or is it possible they will both start fermenting the cider?

I had 1.052. I pitched Nottingham yeast on Sunday evening, 30 hours after adding potassium metabisulphite. I also added pectic enzyme and yeast nutrient, however there’s no activity in the carboys.
