Sorry, but I didn’t read your question carefully. It will also raise your OG.
Add Lactose to the boil. I usually add 15 minutes before end of boil. Since it’s unfermentable by beer yeast, it will raise your FG.
Good luck with the stout, I’m also brewing one on Saturday.
I’ll split a sack with you, Brian.
That’s fantastic! All the best, John. We’ve been to Folly’s when we visited my daughter in Toronto.
We’ll be sure to pop in again and say hello and of course sample your fine brew.
You’ll be missed by the gang in London.
Put me in also. Thanks, Jon.
I’ll bring some kind of pastry.
I haven’t used my smoked malt from the split yet, but have made a few smoked beers in the past. I would go with 4 lbs. or so. In my last smoked porter I used 3 lbs. and it wasn’t smokey enough.
http://surearcwelding.com/ also does refills – usually on the spot. They’re off Veterans Memorial.
As for a recirculating fan, I just use a 12 volt computer fan with a resistor to drop it down to about 6 volts. If you come to the meeting, I could show you photos of my built and give you more pointers.
Linda and I will be there. We can bring a salad.
Name: Smoked Maple Porter
I’m ok with that. How do I pay you?
Thanks for organizing this, Scott.
Name: Roland Luckas
Beer: Sesquicentennial Syrup
Style: Maple Amber Ale
I was just fighting with a plugged racking cane yesterday so I’m in on the Auto Siphon Filter for sure!
If the regulator is faulty you would see the low pressure gauge creeping up to beyond set pressure.
Also any sudden restriction in the beer line would cause foaming.(check the keg posts and connectors)
If you shook the kegs to carbonate, you may have overdone it.
A big “Thank You” to Gavin and also Jason and Justin for putting it all together.
Pitched US-05 and plan on about 6 oz. of dry hops – 3 oz. in primary and 3 in keg.
I will be there with scale, scoop and bucket.
ABV: 6.0 %
That’s it. Thanks, Scott.
There used to be a spreadsheet for grain exchange. I can’t seem to find it. Does anyone know how to get to it and if it even exists anymore?
You can borrow mine if you need to. It’s motorized. You know where I am.
